Kingmets FRP Fiberglass Foam Core Sandwich Panel is a sandwich material made of 3 layers: top skin sheet is fiberglass, core layer is PU foam or XPS foam, bottom skin is also fiberglass.
Fiberglass sheet is glass fiber reinforced plastic, known as FRP sheet too. It is a durable material that has many outstanding features: chemical resistant, impact resistant, scratch resistant, weather proof, water proof. Yet it’s a bit soft to be used when it’s just a single layer material. By adding PU foam (polyurethane) or XPS foam (extruded polystyrene), we can enhance the strength of FRP sheet and meanwhile making it thermal insulated and sound insulated. FRP Fiberglass foam core sandwich panel is ideal to be used for cold rooms, wall partition, container house, refrigerated truck body etc. And if needed, we can also add aluminium or plastic tubes inside panel core as electrical wire cavity or along panel edges for strength reinforcement.
Our FRP sandwich panel is manufactured through automatic glue spraying process & high pressure pressing process, life span is long.
Panel thickness | 20mm, 25mm, 30mm, 50mm, 100mm or customized thickness |
Panel width | 1000mm, 1220mm, 1500mm or customized widths |
Panel length | 2440mm, 3200mm, 4000mm, 5800mm or customized lengths |
FRP skin thickness | 1mm, 1.2mm, 1.5mm, 2mm, 3mm or customized thickness |
Foam core | PU foam or XPS foam, density between 35kgs/m3 to 45kgs/m3 |
Panel edge | Standard open edges |
FRP patterns | Smooth surfaces, pebbled surfaces |
Color options | Matt gloss or high glossy colors: white, grey, black, red, blue etc |
Gel coat | Gel coated or non gel coated optional |
Fiberglass types | chopped fiber, woven roving types |
Excellent Insulation | Weight saving
The sandwich foam core, no matter PU foam or XPS foam, are both good thermal insulation and sound insulation. The heat conductivity coefficient is very low, no greater than 0.03W/m·k, making it suitable for applications that need to keep warm or to keep cold. | The sandwich foam core density is just around 40kgs/m3. Example a 50mm thick FRP sandwich panel with FRP skin 1.5mm weighs only 7.2kgs/m2. This is important when it's used for refrigerated truck body, as the less body weight means less fuel consumption and less fuel cost.
Durable material | Dimensionally stable
FRP skin sheet is fiberglass reinforced resin material, it is very durable. FRP surface is gel coated, making it chemical resistant, impact resistant, UV resistant and waterproof. Such properties making it suitable for cold room or refrigerated trucks especially when it's used to stored meet, ice etc. | The 3-layer sandwich structure keeps the top FRP & bottom FRO skin sheets balanced and the sandwich panel will remain in a stable form for long time. The foam core sandwich panel can perform mechanically & physically stable under a wide range of temperatures from -40℃ to +80℃.
Easy installation | Easy cleaning
With proper design, FRP sandwich panel can be fastly & easily assembled by using extrusions, screws, rivets. | The FRP skin sheets are easy to clean with regular detergents & high-pressure washers. |
